What is this place

Life Artful Mission Statement

Living every day with an artful mindset is our birthright as humans. Artfully expressing ones self with intent is not an elite profession, it is as much a gift from the Universe as breathing, speaking, or walking.

This site and collection of media is dedicated to this idea. The purpose of this place is to explore all aspects of living and expression regardless of the medium chosen.

For myself, I am currently exploring music as a form of self expression. But poetry, found sounds, writing, drawing, and the pursuit of pilgrimage and adventure with intent will be shared here.

This site will house articles, blog posts, poems, audio files, music, and eventually a podcast dedicated to the proposition that a human life is, in itself, a form of artful expression that should be explored, not wasted.

Sometimes self expression doesn’t make sense. Sometimes it is controversial. Sometimes it is challenging or ugly or beautiful or disturbing or soothing. That is what it means to be human, and that is what this place will be dedicated to.

It is my hope that in creating a repository for the exploration of living a life artful that a reaction will be created for some of my fellow humans.

It is not for an Artist to dictate how an audience feels about the thing created. Rather, the job of the Artist is to show up, and be honest; To take pride in the fact that if the product of one’s life spurs any kind of reaction, be it positive or negative, it is proof that one is truly living.

For that is what Art is supposed to do. The process of being vulnerable and the expression of things that an individual may not even understand in themselves is the hallmark of living a life artful.

Like primary colors, many aspects of our lives conspire and blend to create something new, something different. Having the courage to be vulnerable in the sharing is the true sign of an Artful Life.

I hope to do that very thing here, and I hope to build a community of stories of other people, to share how I react to other’s artful expression, no matter the medium.

We are all works of art created by the hand of the Universe; the Cosmos expressing and exploring itself through us. We are both the Art and the audience for and of Divinity’s Sacred self.
